We Owe So Much to These Unsung Heroes Every day, San Diego's firefighters and first responders answer the call, risking their own lives to protect our families, homes, businesses, and communities. From battling wildfires and responding to medical emergencies to rescuing victims and protecting neighborhoods during disasters, these dedicated men and women serve with extraordinary courage and compassion. Wildfire danger exists year-round in San Diego County, with the greatest threat during the hottest and driest months. While most of us seek safety, firefighters run toward danger to protect others. This special City to Summit Charity Road Rally is our opportunity to say thank you. Together, we'll raise critical funds for organizations that provide firefighters and first responders with equipment, emergency assistance, wellness programs, specialized training, and support for those injured in the line of duty.
